After studying for a degree in Maths and German at Aston University Rachel moved back to Bristol to do her Maths PGCE and in 2004 qualified as a teacher. She have worked within the CLF since it was formed, first at Bristol Brunel Academy and then moving into the Post 16 provision. In her time at BBA she taught a variety of Post 16 Maths and eventually moved to join CLF post 16 in 2018. She has worked alongside others in the CLF to improve the provision of post 16 Maths and has seen the numbers of student studying both A level Maths and Further Maths and Core Maths increasing over the years. She is also involved in training teachers through the SCITT programme at the CLF institute and has worked with the Maths Hub in a variety of ways over several years. She works as an associate for the AMSP and has run local network meetings and Maths Feasts across Bristol and Bath. She is passionate about seeing as many students as possibly studying Maths Post 16 and has a particular focus on inspiring young women to study Maths and increasing the uptake of Core Maths.
