Who can take part?
Participants for the SKTM - Secondary Early Career Teachers Programme will be those who have recently started their teaching career; for this programme that means teachers in their second or third year of teaching.
Early Career Teachers in their first year - the new Early Career Teacher (ECT) Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules are available to first-year ECTs as a programme that they can work through at their own pace and at a time that suits their schedule. Email Team@booleanmathshub.co.uk for further information.
What is involved?
This one-year programme supports secondary ECTs to develop their specialist knowledge for teaching maths, underpinned by the principles of teaching for mastery.
Participants attend the equivalent of four days of professional development across the year. They also complete school-based tasks, contribute to an online community, and reflect with peers and mentors.
All ECTs participating in this programme will be enrolled onto the ECT Expertise in Teaching Maths Modules. These interactive modules are hosted on a learning management system. Whilst ECTs do not need to complete the modules to participate in this programme, the learning from them is explored in greater depth within the sessions.
What will you learn?
- You will strengthen your understanding of effective maths pedagogy
